Severe Outlook: March 15th

outlook_20140315A severe thunderstorm threat tomorrow includes damaging winds for much of eastern Texas into the Ark-latex region. An isolated tornado is possible. While more than ample shear is forecast, instability becomes a wildcard in determining the extent of the event.

Here’s a look at a post-event verification:
verification_20140315I underestimated the amount of hail reports. This could be partially due to the terrain and lack of trees across central Texas. Also, severe reports were noted west of the area that I had outlined.
