No-Go For Weekend Storm Trip

GFS_20140410Although some stormy weather is expected out west this weekend, I’m calling off any possibility of traveling out there.

I was very much on the fence about the whole prospect anyway. A very marginal setup over Kansas on Saturday and a potential setup in east Texas on Sunday. A round trip of at least 3,000 miles for what, just the slight risk of seeing a good storm?

Even though there may not be another notable threat of severe storms for a while after this weekend, it will be best to wait things out. The heart of the severe chase season is really late April into May.

I figure not taking this trip now will save me the money for an extra trip later in the season.

I will continue to monitor the situation and post additional forecasts and outlooks in the coming days.
