A look at snowfall totals expected across southern New England and the New York City metropolitan area for Monday, February 8th, 2016. Snow develops during the morning hours from south to north, possibly beginning as rain along the New Jersey coast, New York City, Long Island, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket. As low pressure moves north and east, a band of heavier snow is expected to impact eastern Long Island into southeastern New England. This is where an 8 to 12 inch snowfall is anticipated, with a few higher amounts possible across the Cape Cod vicinity. Snow quickly tapers off later Monday night, in association with the initial storm system. Additional snowfall is possible through midweek.
